Events

WiLL is about lifelong learning as we believe that no one person ever knows it all - but there’s a difference between knowing what you don’t know and being ignorant!!! We believe also that everyone has the potential to know more, so our mission is to encourage women of any background to wake up to the fact that spending time learning and getting in touch with themselves serves only to benefit those around them; it is not a selfish act as many have come to believe in the race to be the absolute giver and be all things to all people (business woman, mother, wife, lover, friend etc………) but time well spent to be able to be everything she was born to be and more.

Each event opens with some informal networking over refreshments and begins at 7pm with an interactive seminar delivered on a particular topic by a specialist who encourages participation, discussion, debate and reflection amongst the members. After the facilitator has finished there is an opportunity to exchange relevant information and for any member to seek the support and/or views of the group on a particular issue through an “Ask WiLL” and “Tell WiLL” board that is made available. The evening then formally closes with any relevant announcements – such as up and coming regional events.

The topics covered during the interactive sessions are wide and varied, and have ranged from Assertiveness Skills to Emotional and Financial Intelligence, through to Speed Networking. Every year the calendar is influenced by members’ feedback and requests and managed via the Committee. Topics are chosen on the basis that they fulfill WiLL’s underlying entrepreneurial objectives, helping members to:

• Building women’s confidence to turn their ideas into reality through starting their own business
• Building women’s confidence to expand their businesses into new areas
• Supporting women during times of stress, change and emotional turmoil
• Enabling women to learn how to network in a safe environment so feel able to join other networks where the emphasis is on selling themselves and their business which leads directly to business growth
